This is my very first time blogging. (Gosh I sound like some ulu person only.. SWT!!) To tell you people the truth I just hate blogging for whatever the reason is. Anyway last Thursday a few of us from the Student Council (Jovita, Victoria, Eugene and I) went down to Ruums, KL to watch ” So You Think You Can Dance” Live. The place was pretty packed and it was hot and stuffy as well. Did I mention there were no cute guys.. can you believe that?? SIGHHHH!!! What to do, Ruums is known as the LALA Club. I think I better stop crapping, don’t want to bore anyone by reading this post.

So You Think You Can Dance is a dance reality show and competition aired on 8TV every Thursday at 9.30pm. Based on the original US version of So You Think You Can Dance. It has the similar premise to the American Idol series of singing competition, with nationwide auditions leading to the discovery of the next big star. The top 20 finalists (*now 16- on Thursday night) will have to dance their way through a rigorous competition format where they are assigned at random, different partners and dance styles each week to test their versatility.

We have Ramli Ibrahim, Judimar Hernadez and Pat Ibrahim back as the judges and this season’s new host is Aishah Sinclair. All three main judges were present along with Yannus Sufandi, the Australian choreographer who had been involved in the show since Season 1. Guest artist who performed for that night was by Phlowtron before the elimination.

Based on their performances on Thursday night, I think we’re in for a real treat. The contestants this time around are a talented bunch. In my personal opinion, I think Cecilia and Ray put on a very good show. They were hot and danced well together. Cecilia has a likable face and a bubbly personality. (So make sure you people vote for CC, this girl can really move, check out for yourself if you don’t believe me.) The competition is tight this time around and it’s pretty hard to say who’s gonna walk home as the winner. Will is still be a guy or a girl? Only time will tell…

2 contestants (male & female) with the lowest SMS votes will be eliminated very Thursday night. The judges picked 6 weakest performing dancers and each is given a chance to perform solo as his/her ‘dance of survival’. The bottom 6 were Nafi, Jojo, Raymond, Zef, Sly and Sarah. It was heartbreaking for Nafi and Zef to be kicked out of the competition but someone has to go.

Overall, I think all the dancers performed well and it took a lot of effort for them to be were they are now. So stay tune for next weeks sizzling performances by Malaysia’s top 14 dancers. Don’t forget to VOTE for your favorite dancer.
