Road Trip #3
HEYY ALL……..
How ya’ll doin?! =) So, mid terms are finally and officially OVER! *BIG SIGH OF RELIEF*
Now’s already the mid of the year (how time flieeess, *sigh* again), AND we still haven’t confirmed which hotel we would like to have our ball at!!! Well, cuz :
1- Remember how much we wanted Renaissance Hotel?? UNFORTUNATELY, they have no available dates for our annual ball!; they’re FULLY BOOKED! They didn’t have the dates that we wanted our ball on.
Sooooo, SCRATCH Renaissance Hotel, and GOODBYE! =…(
2ndly- We’ve kept Shangri-La Hotel in view; it was our SECOND choice. BUUUT, they wouldn’t give us the grand ballroom that we wanted because we HAVE to have more than 500 people! (we’re only targeting maximum 500)
Sooooo, FINE!; SCRATCH Shangri-La Hotel. . . . . . . BUH-BYE to u too
SO and SO, we had another road trip AGAAAIN!!! Since Khai Sim and gang had theirs on their own a few days ago, this’ll be our THIRD road trip
Before imma tell you about it, I wanna first SCREAM- WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE… LOL. call me crazy, but i had like THE BEST, AWESOME-EST road trip (down to Kay EL [yes, again people] ) with VICTORIA and ALLY. this time, it was just us GURLS! NO BOYS ALLOWED!! XP (nolah..they were busy!.. sort off) But anyway, we did another hotel HUNTING!
Hotels that we checked out were :
- Nikko Hotel (we had an appointment with BANU, the Catering Sales Coordinator)
- Westin Hotel
- Federal Hotel
- Sheraton Imperial Hotel
So the three of us met up at college and started our hotel “hunting” aaaat aaaaabouuut, nine thirty? Heehee. We took PUBLIC TRANSPORTS!!!! *CLAP PLS* XP Okaay okaaayyy…. CONFESSION (again and again!) NUMBER …. Can’t remember number what.. FOUR? - we didn’t really know how to take BUSES! X_X but see, the goood thing is, we LEARNT how to in the end
We took buses and LRTs, Monorails….. NO CABS! Absolutely NO cabs!! (Ally wouldn’t let! wanna HAN $$$$. Sheeessh :P) BUT BOYhh…. I gotta tell ya… public transports AINT CHEAP!!! Don’t ask how much we spent all together JUST ON TRANSPORTATION today! It was still fun though. Heeehee.
NIKKO HOTEL- Our first stop, we had an appointment at 11am with Miss Banu, the catering sales coordinator of the hotel. We reached nikko pretty early, so we waited for awhile at the lobby for her to assist us. She brought us to the ballrooms. Didn’t exactly showed us around, but we managed to see a few of the ballrooms. CONFESSION five(?)- We weren’t really impressed and happy with the ballroom and the price that she’s also charging per head! But we’re keeping this for PLAN B, if we don’t have a BETTER deal with imperial.
Before we move on to WESTIN, there was this one funny part I’d like to tell ya. Ok, so, we’re getting outta Nikko and trying to find the way to our next hotel destination. We were carrying a map and we looked like some ‘ULU’ people trying to read the map. We were thinking and putting our heads together to find a way to WESTIN, which was at Jln Bukit Bintang (Westin’s just next to JW Marriott fyi). We asked one of the ‘limo and taxi services’ people about how we can get to Bukit Bintang… The next thing we know, they offered us a FREE ride to KLCC ! they thought we were some tourists (were with maps) and some hotel guests -.-” It wasn’t exactly the our next destination, but it certainly would help us save a few bucks. Besides, it’ll definitely be easier for the so-called ULU “tourists” to take a rapid KL to Bukit Bintang from KLCC.
WESTIN HOTEL- We got off the bus. it dropped us right in front of pavilion. We walked to westin hotel; it wasn’t that far away. When we got there, nobody assisted us. We didn’t want to ask anybody there for assistance just in case they wouldn’t allow us to check out their ballrooms. So we did this ’self service’ thing; we went up on our own. Well……….., i would say that the ambiance is nothing like La Meridian.. Aside from that, the ballroom with the ’sperms-attacking-an-ovum’ like “chandeliers” got the ULU “tourists” sort of disgusted and very much not amazed by them. Owh and and, the ballrooms are not good and big enough to fit the targeted people for our ball.
Sooooo, SCRATCH WESTIN! Buh bye ’sperms-attacking-an-ovum’ like “chandeliers” (ugh. dowanna type or say that again!)
FEDERAL HOTEL- We did a looooooooooooooooota walkin’ just to get to Federal Hotel. Am not gonna complain. Walking was actually fun =D Heehee. OKAY OKAY, focus. Federal Hotel……..hmmm….what can i comment about it behalf of the threesome… WELL, FEDERAL HOTEL, we now know why you charging us at sucha cheap price per person (RM65++ je). I’m sorry, but really, we expected more from your hotel! It wasn’t as grand or nice as we saw from the pictures on the Internet. =/
Sooooo, gotta say no more and just SCRATCH you our from our list as well. Eek.
Lastly, SHERATON IMPERIAL HOTEL- Now known as just IMPERIAL HOTEL. We saved the best for the last ^^ we also had an appointment with Amanda Teng, Catering Executive. We got her to assist us around the place. when we got there, all tired and exhausted already, she showed us first to the ballroom… We were really really excited cuz that was the part we wanted to see most. =D =D =D =D see all these smileys?? Heehee. It means we’re happy with it! =D It was already almost one.. Amanda suggested we talk ‘business’ at lunch, so she treated us a buffet style lunch AT THE HOTEL!! *_* YES, the all-you-can-eat, and want-to-eat BUFFET!!!! well, not exactly HER treating us..the HOTEL paid!! But still, what the heck! FREE BUFFET!! Our exciting hotel ‘hunting’ day was just about to begin! seriously, we would really like to consider imperial if she can work something out on the PRICE! that’s just the problem. It’s not exactly expensive, honestly; it’s just that we want it at a lower price summore.. So, we sat down with her at lunch and talked about it WHILE enjoying our maaaarvellous lunch! THE FOOD ROCKS wei…so good! So we talked and talked about it… She’s really really really a nice person… But, she’s not so sure about whether she could lower the price down even more for us, as she’s already lowered it to a 110. She’ll get back to us. so, we’ll most probably set our date and venue (finally) by next monday. I’m sure we still can work something out if she can’t help us with the pricing. But the main thing here is that we’ve got our eyes on imperial…. So should you =) We don’t want just US to like imperial; we want ya’ll to feel the ambiance and the atmosphere of the hotel. It’s not perfect, nothing is; but it’s a very potential hotel for our annual ball.
Check out the photos of Imperial=)
The ballroom :
Amanda happily showed us the executive suite :
Xtras…. :
Since the hotel was paying for our lunch, we took the advantage of it by ordering a bottle of champagne XD
Hahahaha… We’re happily toasting away XD
Meet Amanda=) She’s sucha darling
The view at the swimming pool area :
The pool =D
Sucha shame that we didn’t get to take pictures of the MAGNIFICENT fooooooood. Guess we just couldn’t be bothered to when we got carried away when having lunch. Gawd. I can’t stop saying this: the food was good maaan. Think we had the best lunch ever! >.< But oh well. The next time we go there again (with the lecturers, most probably, and for food testing as well) We’ll surely bring joshua!! We need the photographer!! =P
Anyway, that’s about it. more happenings are coming soon. we can’t wait for the food testing =D
One of the ulu “tourists” signing off, JESS. -.-’ cheers =)

Lol…. I like the Nikko Hotel part the most, where we were treated like some what VIPs…! Oh my goodness, you should see when the chauffeur actually hurried down just to help us open the door of the van once we reached our destination (KLCC)….! Lol…. like we’re some kind of rich kid tourists who can afford Nikko like that…. XD
