Road Trip
Okay, since we’re gonna try do something different to our HMC student council website, by means, making it more ‘bloggish-like’, I’d like to post our very FIRST outing that we had on Saturday (7th June 08) ^^
We had our so-called ‘road trip’ (I guess you can call that) down to KL. . . . . Well, not exactly just KL (I’ll explain later). As ya’ll know we have started planning on our annual ball, we did a little hotel venture at KL. Hotels that we went to check out were La Meridien Hotel, Nikko Hotel, Renaissance Hotel, Concorde Hotel, and last but not least, Shangri-La Hotel.
So we headed down to KL about 9-ish. . (Without Victoria in the car.. She overslept apparently. So she got her dad to drive her to La Meridien Hotel, our FIRST STOP, to meet up with us). We were all pretty excited and overwhelmed by the ambiance and surrounding of the hotel. Ally and I, especially, we were talking so much about how we’ll want our wedding dinners to be at the our favorite hotel (La Meridien). We thought the hotel was just sooo perfect for weddings, parties and even balls…. Until we snuck around and got to check out the Sultan’s Ballroom. MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT! The biggest ballroom they had there was the Sultan’s ballroom, and it was such a small ballroom! (No offense hotel, but aside from the “BIGGEST” ballroom you have, everything else is perfecto!) i mean, there was no room for a dance floor… And what is a prom/ball without a dance floor?? AND SO, we had to scratch La Meridien Hotel OUT T_T
i manage to take some pictures of the beaaaaautiful ballroom and everywhere else in the hotel.
The SULTAN’S BALLROOM (It’s called this way, fyi)
Like the cute chandelier =D
The paintings they have in the hotel awed me. (Don’t mind me, I’m fairly into art stuff).
Before that-
Left: KL Hilton Hotel. Right: La Meridien ……… RIGHT, it was.
After that-
*AHEM*
We were stuck in a small jam for a lil’ while =D
And so we caaaamwhooooreed…… (Well, just a little LAHH)
Okay, maybe a lil more than LITTLE… -.-’
Our next destination was NIKKO HOTEL…
There’s not much to say about Nikko Hotel…. We didn’t like it as much as we liked La Meridien
Reasons:
One- The whoever person working in the sales department (if i’m not mistaken) wasn’t working on that day. so we couldn’t meet him/her to discuss or know more about the price quotations and whatever it is that we wanted to know.
Two- They wouldn’t even let us do a lil ‘tour’ of the hotel, or at least check out their ballrooms.
Three- Ally asked if we could check out their swimming pool, but they said NO CAN DO! -.-
So we thought- WHAT A FABULOUS HOTEL!! =.=’
Moving on, not wasting a minute and letting this ruin our day, we headed straight to Shangri-La Hotel.
Just so you know, Renaissance Hotel and Concorde Hotel are situated very, very near to Shangri-La Hotel. Since we were heading to Shangri-La, we might as well just check out the two other hotels. BUT.. the weather wasn’t so good. It seemed like it was about to rain. So, Victoria, Ally and I decided that WE GO AND CHECK THREE OF THE HOTELS OUT; while Eugene and Edwyn (the Es) stayed in the car (Just in case if it rained heavily, Eugene can pick us up from the hotel). We parked somewhere near all three of the hotels, and not IN the hotel because it’d be blady expensive just for a few minutes….(Ok ok..one hour at least) We walked! very good exercise…esp for victoria!!! LOL one NEW thing that I didn’t know about her is that she’s darn health conscious! {It’s a good thing Vic, *winks*}
Okaayy, so, Renaissance Hotel- we three love the hotel very much.. The ballroom’s pretty similar to La Meridien’s… (It’s cuz they both have little “balconies” in their ballrooms). But to compare the classiness of the hotels, La Meridien definitely wins this one.
Concorde Hotel- the sales manager of the hotel ALSO WASN’T working on that day. Plus, they wouldn’t allow us to check out their ballrooms as well. Hmph. not like we were planning to have our ball at your hotel anyway! XP
Shangri-La…….. i managed to snap a few pictures of the ballroom..
Shangri-La’s ballroom is quite big. Enough room for more than 500 ppl. The stage’s pretty big as well.

One thing that Vic, Al and I weren’t very impressed was the entrance to the ballroom. There’re only side entrances. The entrance to the ballroom matters to us. But i guess hotels have their good and bad.
*****************THE REST OF THE DAY******************
Confession 1: We were a little lost when we wanted to get to Shangri-La Hotel. . . None of us knew the way to the hotel. But luckily, Miss I-have-a-good-sense-of-directions (Ally) got us there with her oh-so impressive power sense!
After the hotel venture, it was lunch time and all of us were starving! We all agreed to get the heck out of KL. It’s about time! (We were in KL the whole day morning!) We were starting to get a LITTLE exhausted.. (Just a LITTLE). All then wanted to have lunch at Hartamas Square……………………………………………………… When we got there, IT WAS CLOSED!! (Thank u soo much for being a public holiday) And so we thought again- WHAT A FABULOUS TIME WE WERE HAVING! =.=’ We drove all the way to Hartamas just to have our lunch. So nevermind about Hartamas square, we walked around the place to see what other restaurants or coffee shops we’d like to have our meals at. BUT WE being soo fussy and picky only wanted our lunch at hartamas square… Then Ally suggested again (she suggested hartamas square too) to have our ‘peaceful’ lunch at PICCADILLY’s (it’s at Seksyen 14, if I’m not mistaken =D) without hesitating, off we went to Piccadilly’s.
FINALLY, when we were there….
FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!! Juuusst FINALLY! lol
More pictures of the day - - -

We’ll definitely, definitely have more road trips!
Because,
Confession 2: We had fun getting lost in such a small city called KL (at least i had fun getting ’sesat’)
Confession 3: Our very first road trip was a BLAST! ! We had so so so much fun time being together.
So that’s about it. Thanks for reading. Guess it’s my turn to say ‘JESS OUT’ -.-
Cheers! =)
