Hello fellow readers,

This place has not been updated for a reasonable amount of time. Why so? This is because I have other work to do regarding the ball and I took a vacation during the weekend. Enough of excuses, on with the updates.

Updates

1. Food Bazaar pictures are up! Click on the picture to go to the gallery.

2. The organisation of the Annual Ball is doing well. Our theme is “Bella Noche” which means “A Beautiful NIght”.

That’s about it.

HMC Student Council Website is starting a project by the name of The Blogospheric Project. It’s a rather simple project. But first, a definition for those clueless people.

blog·o·sphere
noun. The set of all weblogs on the Internet.

A blog is more than a website these days. It is your own voice. We want you to bring the blogging community in HMC together. This way, we can bring each other closer to one another and exchange your own opinions.

How do you go about doing this?
You simple have to post a comment on this post with the link to your blog. In order to post, however, you need to register on the website. If you refuse to register, just mail me (eugenelow@hmcstudentcouncil.com) the link to your blog.

We might have minor events on the site but we’ll save that for the future. If all goes well, we’ll open it to the whole of HELP.

Updates

We are going to change the pace of this website, a little. All these while you’ve just been seeing advertisements to latest events and recaps of them. We are going to make this website more bloggish-like (this is a made up word) to entertain you as well as keep you informed. We are going to do Movie Reviews, Book Reviews, Rants and Happenings. Happenings, similar to Event Recaps will not focus on the Event but rather on those little things we did, like going out on road trips and such.

HMC Orientation Night of 2008 is in 18 hours time. Last minute tickets are available but better get them fast before they run out!

HMC Student Council Blog has a lot of updates. There are two major ones.

Gallery Interface
The Interface for the gallery has changed. It has a simpler yet stylish look which does not take much time to load. Furthermore, you can open multiple images at once!

Live Chatbox
The interactiveness of this website has turned up a notch and we have inserted this chatbox which you people can interact with each other! Obviousity, some basic rules such as no spamming (3 messages in a row at most) and no flaming has to be followed. You also have to register in order to use the chatbox. Also, the Chatbox is Live, which means it automatically updates itself.

Also, since Elections are over, the Election page has been taken down and move to the Archive page where old pages made specifically for certain events will be moved to. If you want to find out about the new board of directors, you have to wait for the next post. The tension is building.

I have been working a lot on the website; finding plugins which refuses to work on me and thinking of various ways of making this place as interactive as possible. At the current moment I have two beautiful new things.

Media
This is the place where we will fill it with Photographs and Videos of various events. There is a beautiful gallery which is pretty.

Users
If you are curious who joined this website, there is a User directory now. It stats your nickname, website and date of joining this website.

Both two of those new pages can be found on the tabs above, next to Events.

Futhermore, we have an User Online on the sidebar which will tell you how many users are online at the current moment. I am setting a goal to at least 20 users online at one go.

Lastly, in future, what you can expect is a Chat page and more pictures/videos. The Chat page is only opened to registered users and of course, anyone can register.

Enter your desired username and e-mail address.

Note 1: Please make sure your e-mail address is a valid one.
Note 2: Your username is case sensitive. That means when logging in, you have to
use the exact capital letters.
