Road Trip

Sunday, June 8th, 2008

Okay, since we’re gonna try do something different to our HMC student council website, by means, making it more ‘bloggish-like’, I’d like to post our very FIRST outing that we had on Saturday (7th June 08) ^^

We had our so-called ‘road trip’ (I guess you can call that) down to KL. . . . . Well, not exactly just KL (I’ll explain later). As ya’ll know we have started planning on our annual ball, we did a little hotel venture at KL. Hotels that we went to check out were La Meridien Hotel, Nikko Hotel, Renaissance Hotel, Concorde Hotel, and last but not least, Shangri-La Hotel.

Recap: C2AGE 2008

Sunday, June 8th, 2008

C2AGE happened on the 31st May 2008 from 8am to 5pm. To summarise it, it was a day of fun for those of you who love cosplaying, anime, games and comics. We had console games, tabletop games, cosplaying, art booths, model booths, and trivias. To write about the whole day would be too much, so here are some pictures.

Review: Kung Fu Panda

Sunday, June 8th, 2008

Note: These reviews might not be the same as your own opinions.

Released: 6th June 2008
Classification: U (PG)
Language: English
Runtime: 1 hour 43 minutes
Director: Mark Osborne, John Stevenson
Cast: Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, David Cross, Lucy Liu, Seth Rogan, Dustin Hoffman, Ian McShane.

Rating: 4/5 stars

Dreamworks Animation pulled it off with Kung Fu Panda. All these while their movies (with some exceptions such as Shrek) had been really childish and corny (to me). However, in Kung Fu Panda, they explore deeper in the darker side with amazing martial arts. Even with its slightly cliched storyline, the action and humour in the movie can keep glued to your seat.

Apart from the storyline, they have the perfect team of voice actors. Who can not like a show with Jack Black and Jackie Chan in it? They have made the average script as interesting as possible.

Animation-wise, Dreamworks Animation have always been improving. This time, they included swift fighting moves which can keep your eyes glued onto the screen. All in all, they have did a wonderful job with Kung Fu Panda and majority of the reviews have given it good criticism.

Updates

We are going to change the pace of this website, a little. All these while you’ve just been seeing advertisements to latest events and recaps of them. We are going to make this website more bloggish-like (this is a made up word) to entertain you as well as keep you informed. We are going to do Movie Reviews, Book Reviews, Rants and Happenings. Happenings, similar to Event Recaps will not focus on the Event but rather on those little things we did, like going out on road trips and such.
